Houshmandzadeh chooses Seattle as his new home

It is official. Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has chosen the Seattle Seahawks as his new team. Both sides agreed to a five year contract for $40 million, with $15 million in guarantees.

Besides having the Seahawks as an option, he also had the Minnesota Vikings and also his previous team, the Cincinnati Bengals, as team choices. He mentioned that it was tough decision, but felt he made the right choice.

The 31 year old was pretty much pressured by Bengals, specifically from quarterback Carson Palmer, to stay in Cincinnati. Also, the Vikings told him to him to stay in their area to check it out, but Houshmandzadeh went quietly to Los Angeles on Monday to spend the day making up his mind. But we all know now how that ended.

During the last two NFL seasons, Houshmandzadeh has caught over 204 passes, with a total of 2,043 yards. Plus, he had made around 16 touchdowns. He also tied for the NFL receptions lead in 2007 with 112 catches, thus giving him the opportunity to go to the Pro Bowl.

From a perspective, the Bengals offensive line wasn’t really that strong, only Houshmandzadeh was the one doing all the work. It’s pretty obvious that he would choose another team. This can help the receiver side of the Seahawks, which can need a boost.

Check the Seattle Seahawks this year, Houshmandzadeh can give you a chance to place good NFL bets.

NFL moves during the off season

NFL moves during the off season

There have been quite a few changes for the NFL during the past off season. Some players have accepted deals with different NFL teams and this will definitely set a difference on the upcoming NFL season. These are some of the changes we will be enjoying this coming season:

  • Jeremy Shockey, former New York Giants tight has moved to the New Orleans Saints. Shockey has earned four Pro Bowl selections in his career and received a Super Bowl ring with the Giants in the NFL Super Bowl XLII.
  • Originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins during the 1997 NFL Draft, Jason Taylor will be playing for the Redskins this season. Taylor was honored by CBS Sports’ James Brown with a JB Award, given annually to NFL players who have demonstrated a commitment to building better communities and stronger families.
  • Adam “Pacman” Jones will continue to make NFL history playing with the Dallas Cowboys.
  • While one Jones enters the Cowboys team, another Jones leaves: Julius Jones has left his position as Dallas’ running back to play for the Seattle Seahawks.
  • After four successful years with the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Bernard Berrian will continue his NFL career playing with the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Veteran player Warrick Dunn will now leave his running back position with the Falcons to move back to his first NFL team: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played his first three seasons.
  • Receiver Javon Walker has left the Denver Broncos line up to continue on the NFL playing with the Oakland Raiders. Walker has also played for another awesome NFL team: Green Bay Packers.

There has been a few more changes on the NFL line ups, and most of the will start practicing this coming weeks to perform for their new teams. Make sure you keep track of all these changes in your NFL picks before the season starts in a few weeks.

Who is the best quarterback in NFL history?

It’s funny that when you look back into NFL football history, you find players like Dan Marino, a pick #27 of a first round draft , who in spite of his late selection, became an emblem of the NFL football league.

The famous NFL quarterback spent all of his career with the Dolphins wearing the now-retired jersey number 13 and is currently a member of the NFL football hall of fame, and has held almost all NFL passing records.

Despite of being selected for the Pro Bowl 9 times, Dan Marino never achieved a Super Bowl victory, though he led the Dolphins to the playoffs a few times.

Brett Favre was the only quarterback to surpass a few of the records imposed by Marino at the NFL, among those, Favre broke the Most Attempts, Career: 8,358 record,  the NFL Most Completions, Career: 4,967 record and the Most Touchdown Passes, Career: 420.

So when you ask yourself, who the all-time best QB in NFL history is, both Brett Favre and Dan Marino are pretty tight there at the top, but let’s remember that the two quarterbacks had played in different decades, and NFL football has somehow changed along the way, so just by a personal opinion, I would say Marino has an edge over Favre.
