Chargers trying to keep Rivers in the team

A.J. Smith, whom is the general manager for the San Diego NFL football team said on Tuesday that the team is ready to begin negotiations with Philip Rivers, their starting quarterback, hoping to agree to a long-term contract with the player.

Smith is hoping to retain Rivers, whom is a very skilled athlete and whom has been part of the team for a while now, they are expecting that the contract which is being offered to Rivers will be satisfactory enough for the QB, as his tenure with the team ends after the NFL 2009 season.

This current NFL season, Rivers became the main man for San Diego Chargers and the center of their offensive, and last season, he threw for 34 touchdowns and 4,009 yards which is enough to say that the young quarterback is a star in the rise, and a player the Chargers are more than happy to have on their roster.

But most importantly, he has led the team to the playoffs all 3 seasons with him as the starting quarterback and also, his touchdown-to-interception ratio is higher than the ones of Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and even Tom Brady.

So if you are to choose between keeping Tomlinson (whose salary might take up a big chunk of salary cap for the Chargers) and Rivers, I must say that the quarterback is always the main man on a team, and I don’t necessarily think that LaDainian Tomlinson, being a running back, would be more essential than Rivers when it comes to win a Super Bowl.

Final words: Keep Rivers, and let’s see if there is space for Tomlinson.

From bettor to business owner

I had been interested in sports my whole life, but it was when I was 20 years-old than I started to gamble on NFL Football games.

I was very good and making an excellent profit of my bets, but I knew there was something more in sports betting than just placing wagers by myself, and so I decided to start taking small bets from friends.

That was the start of an amazing bookmaking career.

There was a point when I had more clients than I could possibly deal with, and to pay someone to help wasn’t such a good idea as I liked to keep my operation as confidential as possible.

Well, I went into the internet and started to do a little research and found about pay per head shops. They are sites which offers call center solutions for bookies like me.

They told me that once I had paid a small fee for the clients I had on my betting sheet, I wouldn’t have to worry about anything else as they would handle my customers with a great deal of quality.

And that was it, I paid them and now my clients are happier than ever as they told me that the service they were getting from the pay per head shop was astonishing.

So now my clients are happy and I am happier than them because I am able to be traveling constantly, while my pay per head shop handles all aspects of my business.

Cassel will never be Brady

It’s amazing how important a single player can be for an NFL Football franchise, specifically the quarterback. Let’s take Tom Brady as the best example.

The Patriots are trusting on an inexperienced QB on Matt Cassel to finish the NFL season since Brady got injured in the first minutes of New England’s opener against the Chiefs.

Cassel hasn’t done that bad though, but is he able to lead the Pats to a good record? That is to be seen…

Tom Brady just underwent knee surgery and the question here is: Is he going to be the same quarterback after being absent during a whole pro football season? Or will he become just another from the bunch?

Certainly Matt Cassel is not the new Tom Brady but he did start this NFL 2008 season in the same position than Brady back in 2001 when he replaced Drew Bledsoe as the starting quarterback for the Patriots due to a football injury Bledsoe suffered.

If Cassel can raise his level to something similar of Brady’s, then the Patriots have a good chance of repeating at the Superbowl.

Me and my NFL Futures

I’ve been wagering on NFL football for quite a while, and I have to say that betting on NFL futures is one of the things that I enjoy the most.

This is because you get to bet NFL football with a clear vision of what you think is coming ahead, and it doesn’t matter what happens near the date of the NFL football event on which you placed your bet on, the odds are fixed and won’t change, so let’s say that you are betting one of the weakest teams of the NFL to win the NFL championship, and since the payout is higher when you bet an underdog, if that team gets to win, you will surely collect more money for less investment.

Plus you can gather with friends and make predictions, and I’m sure everybody will have their own insights of what the coming NFL football season will be, so you can get more good opinions before laying any cash.

It’s just like at the beginning of the past NFL football season; a friend of mine placed a bet for the Giants to win the Super Bowl, and the NFL odds were not good, but he’s a big NY fan, so he was truly satisfied with the money he made when the Giants beat the Patriots at the past NFL Super Bowl.

Try some futures out; you’ll have a lot of fun during regular football season hoping for your predictions to come true!

My new passion: NFL betting

Dan was a regular man with debts like most… one day, he found himself doing something he thought was meant for people who had a ton of money and did not know where to spend it: He was gambling at the casino of the hotel he was staying in.

He had a very stressful week and all he wanted was to go out of his country and relax for a few days. So he flew to Costa Rica, a really nice tropical country.

There, casinos are very common, and Dan thought that it was a mistake to start gambling… until he found out he was really good at poker and black jack. After a few hours of making some good cash, Dan watched over the other side of the casino just to find the sportsbook area.

Since Dan was very fond of NFL football, he thought that placing a few NFL football bets wasn’t going to harm him, and it really didn’t, as he finished the night with 4 NFL football parlay wins and more money than what he thought he could make in one night working at any given job.

So Dan got really involved with NFL football sports betting, and he stayed in Costa Rica, where he became an independent NFL football bookmaker and opened his own per head shop that now gathers hundreds of clients.

He’s now a happy man with a family and enough money to live greatly for the rest of his life, though he told me a few weeks ago that he will never leave the NFL bookmaking industry as that is what brings more excitement to his life…

Way to go, Dan!

A brothers’ tale

Jay and I went to a sports bar the other night to watch Monday night football. The Colts were playing the Giants, and as most people know, both of the starting quarterbacks for each team are brothers, so the game was even more interesting as we wanted to see if Eli Manning finally was to be superior to his oldest brother Peyton Manning.

We decided to bet on New York, as we had a strong gut feeling about a positive outcome in the Giants’ favor… the NFL football point spread was +3, and we also went for the under which was 45.

The brothers shaked hands before the NFL football game started, but after the match began, they were just rivals, two athletes in full competition for finding out who the real king of the Manning family was (without counting Archie).

By the first NFL football quarter, the Colts were ahead of the Giants by 14-7 with the possesion for New York, so when the second quarter came, Eli stound everybody as he rushed through the field to score a personal touchdown and put things even at 14.

At half time, things were 17 to 15 in New York’s favor, and Eli Manning was ahead of his brother, but Peyton is an outstanding NFL quarterback, and he also wanted to add a touchdown to his personal record. He went through the field but got stopped by the solid Giants deffense, the next Colts play was again for Manning to rush into New York’s end-zone, he finally made it and when he was just a couple of yards from scoring, he got severely tackled and the Giants got the posession again…

So the match continued with just one of the Mannings and the Giants went on to win the game 25-16 but Eli still couldn’t prove that he was a better QB than his brother. And so the rivalry will go on, that’s for sure; hopefully we can get to watch both of them in next season’s Super Bowl

All I have to say is thanks to the Giants deffensive-end who tackled Peyton Manning, as he favored our wagers and made us some money that night…

Me, my wife Diane, sports betting and football

I can say I am a truly lucky man, as I married a woman that loves NFL football just as much as I do. We both bet on NFL football, go to the stadium together, celebrate when our team wins, support the other when it loses and share the same vision for upcoming NFL football betting lines.

I met Diane in a Jaguars game, and she was screaming her lungs out as any true fan would, that is actually what caught my attention. Right there, I knew I had to talk to her…

We went for a beer after the game and one week later, I was asking her to marry me. Immediately we headed to Vegas and before going to the chapel, we went to a local sportsbook to bet NFL football before the wedding. After the ceremony, we placed another wager, and that is actualy a true memorable moment for both, as the one we placed before getting married was a loss, and the one after ended up being a win, so we considered that as a sign about the good decision we’d made.

We’ve been together for 5 years now, and since we combine ideas when we bet NFL football, the outcome is mostly positive, we’ve traveled the world thanks to NFL betting, we built a second floor to our house, bought a third car, and are truly satisfied with the life we’ve lived.

Thank you NFL football!

A 360 turn for Colvin

Being a local NFL football bookie, my range of clients is quite varied, inside my NFL betting sheet I have from construction workers to doctors, in sum, anyone who enjoys NFL football sports betting has a space on my book.

Being part of the NFL sports betting industry, I have friends whom are also NFL football bookmakers, and most of them only go for the big fish out there, forgetting about the humble workers, whose major enjoyment comes when they have a $10 parlay, expecting some luck.

I don’t, I understand them and value each one of their NFL wagers.

So this is the short story of Colvin, a guy who used to work at a fast food restaurant. He had been a client of mine for a while when his strike of luck came.

Colvin wasn’t bad at all at NFL sports betting, but he always took straight bets only, since he was afraid of becoming addicted to parlays as they pay better money, and so I was kind of surprised when he called me and asked me for a $20 dollar 10-team parlay that was paying 850 for one. I knew that if he made it, he would get $17,000, since I knew he was an honest, humble person, I encouraged him to do it.

To my surprise, he did it, he won all 10 and collected the 17 grand! With the money he stopped working at the restaurant and began to read about NFL sports betting, he started taking small NFL football bets from friends, and as of now, he’s a successful bookmaker, and still a good friend of mine…

NFL football fan – Are you truly an NFL football fan?

You know you’re a true NFL football fan when….

  1. You know by heart the name of all 32 NFL football teams, but you just can’t remember that 6th continent that started with an “A”…
  2. You must have jersey. This is just basic stuff. If you don’t even have a jersey let’s just forget this right away.
  3. You’re 2 months late with all college assignments because you spend all your free time discussing the NFL draft or the price on NFL tickets on all forums and checking every hr. just to make sure there are no new videos or heated debates about NFL football in which you obviously need to step in.
  4. You have read, debated and analyzed every overview outline or news concerning the 2008-2009 NFL football game regular season, and if available, the NFL post season and NFL pre-season too. Of course you already made your predictions on what the NFL teams they may do this year.
  5. You actually reach your post number 5,000 in a NFL game sports forum. In the process you’ve lost your wife, kids, mortgage, career and and gained close to 50 lbs. but, you definitely are the ultimate NFL football fan.
  6. You feel guilt and remorse when you admire the career of a sports athlete and you wish you could wear his NFL jersey but this player doesn’t belong to the team you support and so you keep this a secret. (Admit it, you love Brett Favre, but you just can’t come to terms with it)
  7. Whenever you’re anxiously waiting to know NFL games scores you actually get a lump in your throat and all other sorts of physical reactions you’re supposed to get only when you hold your first born son in your arms.
  8. You get sucked into buying all NFL original merchandise because “If you’re a true NFL football fan you MUST have one of these”. Pure peer pressure, shame on you.
  9. You have a YouTube video in which you simply scream like crazy or rant against a an NFL score, NBA schedule decision or an NFL football team in particular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVWuQLz3eSE
  10. The sports bar has a chair, with your name on it (and the shape of your buttocks)
  11. You know meaningless statistics like the fact that NFL fans are 37% more likely than the average American to have gambled online in the last 30 days.
  12. You diagnose your favorite NFL season football player’s injuries and follow up their recovery strictly and surprisingly, you now have a sudden knowledge of physical therapy and sports medicine.
  13. You are in an office pool (brownie points if you came up with the idea and you keep the NFL game schedule) and watch EVERY game there could possibly be on Sunday.
  14. Like an NFL team, (minus the gigantic paychecks), you spend your week analyzing the best strategy to keep positive and feel like a winner on Sunday night.
  15. You probably own a life size vinyl fathead of his favorite NFL football player(s) at home. Yes, maybe even in the living room. It is called showing your pride.
  16. You have a a fan face: whether you opt for a rubber mask or you prefer to spend hours in the mirror artistically adorning your NFL-football-loving-self using your kids finger paints’ there is nothing that says “I will kill for my team” than a colored fan face. If you do not choose the right paint you might still have a hint of that blue and white look when you get to the office on Monday but at least no rival will dare to mess with your fan face on NFL football Sunday.

Who is the best quarterback in NFL history?

It’s funny that when you look back into NFL football history, you find players like Dan Marino, a pick #27 of a first round draft , who in spite of his late selection, became an emblem of the NFL football league.

The famous NFL quarterback spent all of his career with the Dolphins wearing the now-retired jersey number 13 and is currently a member of the NFL football hall of fame, and has held almost all NFL passing records.

Despite of being selected for the Pro Bowl 9 times, Dan Marino never achieved a Super Bowl victory, though he led the Dolphins to the playoffs a few times.

Brett Favre was the only quarterback to surpass a few of the records imposed by Marino at the NFL, among those, Favre broke the Most Attempts, Career: 8,358 record,  the NFL Most Completions, Career: 4,967 record and the Most Touchdown Passes, Career: 420.

So when you ask yourself, who the all-time best QB in NFL history is, both Brett Favre and Dan Marino are pretty tight there at the top, but let’s remember that the two quarterbacks had played in different decades, and NFL football has somehow changed along the way, so just by a personal opinion, I would say Marino has an edge over Favre.
