Price Per Head Shops – How to Survive Competition Part I

What’s the reason one should choose a Price Per Head bookmaking shop over another?

Why are there so many of these so- called pay per head full service sportsbooks when in reality you hear that the majority of sports bookies trust only a couple of household names? Have there been any improvements in the PPH bookmaking industry in the past few years?

Competition has been stiff. As soon as other sports knowledgeable entrepreneurs found out that the price per head business was not only profitable but it was in full bloom, everyone and their mother thought they could own and operate a successful and reliable bookie software service, only to find out that it wasn’t as easy as knowing how to move a couple lines and keep a cell phone on day and night.

Although many of these price per head offshore shops flourished not a lot of them have been able to withstand the test of time. If you think about it, all you require to have an online presence and sell your price per head sportsbook system to sports betting bookies is to have a website (which can cost easily as little as $30 if you know basic html and want to design your own website through DIY companies that sell you the hosting and throw in some lousy free templates to choose from), a couple of clerks who can take your players bets over the phone and enter these into the computer, a telephone number, and a sports wager tracking software to view reports and keep track of the players activity. Many of these places are ran from a basement down in Dominican Republic or in a small office out there in some other Caribbean island where -at the most- 3 people run the show.

I know you got to start somewhere but when it comes to betting, due to the nature of the business, (you’re risking real money here pal, and it ain’t yours!) you just can’t afford to trust your players hard-earned credibility to some unknown pay per head data processing service that will probably charge you the lowest price per head fee per active player –I’ll give you that- but will also shut down min. before Super Bowl because they just weren’t ready to take the overload of calls, or because their sports betting tracking system just died, or simply because they just can’t afford the technological infrastructure needed to avoid hacker attacks or to keep information confidential.

That is a big no-no. You don’t risk a bookies’ info. His player wagering records, any of his own personal information HAS, MUST be safe at all times. To make sure that is the case, a price per head service provider should have invested thousands and thousands of dollars in order to not only buy expensive servers, computer software and security programs just to keep the network safe but it also needs to spend money on training their I.T. staff continuously to make sure they’re up to speed on what’s the latest computer virus, what are the newest trends hackers are using to get to your info, etc so that they know first hand how to prevent something as bad as a leak in confidential data.

I will continue with more advice on how to choose the best Price Per Head bookmaking services.
